We are a vibrant non-denominational single form entry primary school, educating children between the ages of 4 and 11. We have a supportive parent body and a 28 place Complex Needs Resource Base, which supports children with additional needs from across the county. Our passionate staff are committed to raising standards and achieving excellence and, in 2021, we retained our ‘Good’ Ofsted rating and were praised for providing a purposeful and engaging curriculum, which allows pupils to flourish personally and academically. We are part of Acorn Education Trust, which provides exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on collective experience.

The successful candidate will work with children in our Complex Needs Resource Base, helping them to progress in their learning within an atmosphere of inclusion and tolerance, and aim for outstanding progress by challenging, inspiring and supporting them in their learning.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to becoming a truly excellent teacher;
  • is aware of current behaviour management principles, including the use of the ‘Thrive’ approach
  • Can teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve pupil attainment;
  • Can plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and children make superior progress;
  • Is able to raise attainment and challenge all pupils to achieve their best;
  • Has a commitment to inclusive learning and extra-curricular activities;
  • Has experience of working with children with SEND (advantageous);
  • Is committed to teaching using a creative, cross-curricular approach;
  • Is aware of current initiatives in the Primary curriculum and Early Years Framework;
  • Is an effective team member who can contribute positively to the work in our school;
  • Has a positive, cheerful outlook with a good sense of humour;
  • Is able to forge good relationships with students, staff and parents;
  • Is able to work hard and remain calm under pressure;
  •  Has a desire to work within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) structure.

We can offer the successful candidate:

  • An ambitious and vibrant place to work, with enthusiastic children and staff who are passionate about learning;
  • A workplace where everyone feels valued and supported;
  • Opportunities for training and progression;
  • The support of Acorn Education Trust, with excellent opportunities to work with experienced colleagues;
